Controlled research pilot
The initial controlled pilot is limited to the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
Girls aged 13 to 17 may take part through an approved organisation after an adult has explained the project, the privacy information and the available help routes.
Parent or carer consent and the girl’s own assent must be recorded.
Girls aged 8 to 12 must not use the online survey. They may participate only through the approved facilitator led listening activity.
For girls and families
The approved adult supporting the activity will explain why the research is being carried out, what the questions cover, how information will be used and where help is available.
For approved delivery partners
The Eights and Arrows Girls in Cue Sports Survey is a controlled safeguarding pilot for girls aged 13 to 17 in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. It is not available through a public survey link.
Individual coaches, promoters, parents, carers or players may contact us to express interest, but the private survey link will only be issued through an approved accountable organisation.
Girls aged 8 to 12 will not complete the online survey. Their involvement will be through a separate, facilitator led listening activity with appropriate consent, safeguarding and supervision.

Independent research
This programme is independent, constructive, evidence led and partnership focused. It is not intended to attack individual players, promoters, tours, governing bodies or organisations.
Eights and Arrows does not claim to have all the answers. We will listen, test practical solutions, measure what works and publish the evidence.
